PERFORMING TWO INTIMATE THEATRE SHOWS IN MELBOURNE & SYDNEY THIS SUMMER!
The legends behind ‘Harmony Hall’, ‘This Life’, ‘One (Blake’s Got a New Face)’, ‘A-Punk’, ‘Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa’ and more will make their welcome return to Australia in January 2020, as part of their Father of the Bride Tour. Vampire Weekend will perform two intimate theatre headline shows only: fans can catch them on Tuesday 7 January at The Forum, followed by Thursday 9 January at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre.
Ezra Koenig, Chris Tomson and Chris Baio landed their third consecutive #1 in the USA with 2019’s ambitious fourth album, the 18-track Father of the Bride (out now via Columbia Records). It comes six years after 2013’s Grammy-winning Modern Vampires of the City, critics hailing the outfit’s latest vision as a band reborn.
Vampire Weekend’s Father of the Bride world tour is underway, the band currently on a run of North American dates. They’ll head to the UK and Europe in November, before arriving in Australia just in time for New Year’s Eve and festival dates. Vampire Weekend recently celebrated their current incarnation with a sold-out massive, three-hour performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden: their spiky, seven-strong touring band – two drummers, four keyboardists, new faces – and an unbelievable 30+ setlist, packed full of old favourites (e.g. the jovial ‘Unbelievers’, ‘Diane Young’), covers, and new hits (‘2021’, ‘Sunflower’). What’s more, back in May they celebrated their latest album with a six-hour, three-set, all day marathon at NYC’s Webster Hall – covering Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, and providing pizza and bagels for breakfast for ticket holders. Read about it all via Billboard here.
‘Mansard Roof’, ‘Horchata’, ‘Oxford Comma’... these special Vampire Weekend theatre shows will be one hell of a party, guaranteed to kick off 2020 summer! You don’t wanna miss this: get in quick to secure your tickets to Vampire Weekend, in Melbourne and Sydney, January 2020!
