Frontier Touring is ecstatic to confirm that joining alt-J and Ásgeir for the East Coast leg of their upcoming Australian tour this May will be emerging Sydney three-piece Mansionair, making an already powerhouse tour simply unmissable.
 
Lachlan Bostock, Alex Nicholls and Jack Froggatt as Mansionair have quickly ascended the ranks of the Australian music landscape with their debut single ‘Hold Me Down’ which has rapidly amassed over 10 million online streams. The trio also released their similarly titled debut EP through CHVRCHES very own label Goodbye Records, a masterful exploration of sound that draws comparisons to Flume and James Blake while gathering high praise from NME, the Guardian and Stereogum among others.

Mansionair also collected acclaim on their recent sold-out Australian headline tour and Laneway Festival performacnes plus making their debut North American appearances at SXSW in Austin and headline shows in Los Angeles and New York. This January, the band performed a chill-inducing version of Future Islands’ ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’ for triple j’s Like A Version that exemplifies the clean and powerful live sound that Mansionair is fast becoming synonymous with.
 
Joining Mansionair as special guest is 22-year Icelandic wunderkind Ásgeir, whose debut English-language album In The Silence (out now through Inertia) made him one of 2014’s biggest break-out stars. With the effortlessly rhythmic hit single ‘King And Cross’, In The Silence was named Feature Album for triple j and climbed to #8 in the ARIA album chart. Ásgeir received much high praise for his headline shows at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre and Sydney Opera House and was a festival highlight at Splendour in the Grass and Falls and Southbound Festivals.

Having notched up a Mercury Prize for their debut album An Awesome Wave, alt-J’s equally impressive sophomore effort This Is All Yours (out now through Liberator Music) scored nominations for ‘Best British Group’ and ‘British Album of the Year’ at the 2015 Brits and ‘Alternative Music Album’ at the 2015 Grammys. The band were also named Spotify ‘Breakout Artist of 2014’ and won a 2015 YouTube Music Award for the darkly engrossing video for ‘Pusher’.
 
Selling-out every one of their Australian performances to date, alt-J are set continue that trend with their biggest shows yet next month. With no less than three entries in this year’s triple j Hottest 100 countdown and coveted appearances at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Falls and Southbound Festivals and Field Day, audiences and critics alike have proven that they just can’t enough of the UK trio.
