INTIMATE SYDNEY HEADLINE SHOW ANNOUNCED
Returning to Australian shores this month in support of their latest release Mechanical Bull, Frontier Touring are excited to announce that Tennessee rockers Kings Of Leon will perform a one-off intimate show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 20 November.
No strangers to the land down under, Kings Of Leon have rocked some of Australia’s biggest arenas with shows selling out in minutes flat. For this one-off show, fans will have the opportunity to see the band in their most intimate setting since their 2006 tour.
In the seven years since their last visit to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, the Followill family have had three albums shoot up to the #1 spot on the ARIA Charts, received three Grammy awards, performed to massive sold-out crowds across the globe and topped 2009’s triple j Hottest 100 countdown with their anthem ‘Sex On Fire’. They have proven themselves as a musical force to be reckoned with and there is no indication of them slowing down any time soon.
Kings Of Leon’s sixth studio album Mechanical Bull (out now through Sony Music) is the band’s most accomplished record to date, featuring soaring tracks like ‘Supersoaker’ and ‘Wait For Me’.
The album debuted at the top of the ARIA Album Charts, joining previous albums Come Around Sundown (2010) and Only By The Night (2008), confirming that Australia’s love for Kings Of Leon is as strong as ever:
‘Kings of Leon zeroed in on their gifts for visceral rock grooves and soaring hooks--lifting standout tracks on their sixth album to a Springsteen-like level of gritty grandeur.’ – Uncut
UK audiences were amongst the first to hear tracks from Mechanical Bull live when Kings Of Leon played to London, Manchester and Birmingham earlier this year. Both fans and critics were not left disappointed:
‘Kings Of Leon made a triumphant return to the stage last night in London… The whole show was incredible, and over the last ten years Kings of Leon have not only matured in their sound, but also their on stage performances.’ - Gigwise
With the band’s previous Australian arena tours selling out, this show offers fans the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with Kings Of Leon as they showcase both their latest material from Mechanical Bull as well as the tracks that have made the world fall in love with them over and over again.
