Get ready to Shake It as Metro Station prepare to play their first ever shows in Australia. Fans in Sydney and Melbourne will be treated to intimate performances by 2008’s new favourite band during their maiden voyage Down Under. Playing to all ages crowds, fans will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with the Shake It superstars Metro Station this October.
Metro Station’s unique fusion of electro and pop music quickly caught the ear of locals in the LA music scene and after establishing their MySpace profile, everything began to snowball. They were signed to a worldwide record deal and were picked up by the management team behind Fall Out Boy and Panic At The Disco.
In 2007 Alternative Press named Metro Station as one of the “22 Best Underground Bands (That Likely Won’t Stay Underground for Long” and they were spot on. The million selling Metro Station broke out of the blocks in 2008 as their infectious single ‘Shake It’ hit the top of the charts around the world. Sitting at #1 on the iTunes chart in Australia, Metro Station have exploded across the nation with their Australian tour destined to be a sold out event.
In addition to their millions of fans, well respected musicians have given Metro Station their stamp of approval. Motion City Soundtrack stepped up and took on production duties for Metro Station’s self-titled album (out now through Sony BMG), while Simple Plan and Good Charlotte both invited Metro Station to tour alongside them. Most amazingly, however, was most likely the night Beck opened a show for Metro Station in down town LA. Not too shabby for a couple of teenagers who originally set out just to have a bit of fun.
Missing Hours will support Metro Station at all shows. Hailing from regional Victoria, this duo will kick each show off to a ferocious start. Their left of centre approach to creating music has seen them travel the world time and again to fine tune their songwriting. These shows will be your first chance to hear Missing Hours showcase new music ahead of their forthcoming album release.
When a band explodes worldwide the demand expands for their live shows. Expect the demand for Metro Station to be out of control this October. Secure your tickets when they go on sale Tuesday 2 September.
