ATMOSPHERE TOURING AUSTRALIA THIS APRIL!
‘One can feel Atmosphere loosening modern hip-hop from its moorings and yanking it into some weirder and far more interesting place.’
Rolling Stone Magazine
A solid musical alliance; a unique sound that helped to define Minnesota hip-hop; a fruitful career spanning over eight years and five studio albums and counting…
The Frontier Touring Company is pleased to announce that highly acclaimed hip-hop outfit Atmosphere will be touring Australia this April with a full live band! Headed by popular lyricist Slug, Atmosphere will perform shows in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney.
Atmosphere have long been at the forefront of the independent hip-hop scene, continually pushing the boundaries of the genre and making music unlike anything heard in the commercial sphere.
Atmosphere’s latest album You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having has been described as the outfit’s best work to date – no mean feat when you take into account the fact that their previous offering Seven’s Travels placed them at the top of their game, selling over 150,000 copies in the US alone.
The new album has won over Australian critics, including esteemed national broadcaster Triple J; “Slug is a star behind the mic, dealing out plenty of charisma and controversy. Producer Ant is a sonic master and a producer still very much in touch with his musical roots… The American duo’s latest album is bone-crushing, head-splitting and at times heart-breaking.”
Although Atmosphere has toured America and Europe extensively, and performed in Australia at the 2004 Big Day Out, this will be their first headlining tour downunder, and their first performance on our shores with a live band. Don’t miss out!
