Been wondering when those Ryan Adams & The Cardinals sideshows were going to happen? Wonder no more.
In addition to his appearance at the sold out Splendour In The Grass, Ryan Adams will be performing two additional shows with The Cardinals at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on July 26 and Melbourne’s The Palace on July 27.
In May this year Ryan Adams released Cold Roses (Universal) to critical acclaim. Drowned In Sound wrote “Cold Roses is Ryan Adam’s finest record since Heartbreaker; a sprawling, sighing, regret-riddled epic that trawls through themes of freedom and escape, hope and loss, love and its many disguises.”
USA Today added “there's not a bad song in Cold Roses' 18-track bouquet… just listen to the album straight through and marvel at the variety, sparkle, guitar edge and pure tunefulness…”
Of his live show, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wrote, “…Magnolia Mountain, a gorgeous, swelling ballad that became an epic jam delicately segueing into another more fuzzed-out one on Don’t Give Up On Love.”
While Popmatters wrote of a past show, “Adams whipped the crowd into delirium…and kept them so wired that their cheers and screams almost drowned out the band’s entire second tune…”
Tickets will be in hot demand with only one show scheduled for each city, so get a move on to the box office on Friday 10th June when tickets go on sale.
