MG Live, I OH YOU & Frontier Touring are excited to announce US experimental musician and composer Montell Fish will make his highly anticipated return to Australia for May 2025.

Following a sold-out Australia and New Zealand tour in May/June 2024, The Dream Deer Tour will kick off at The Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane on Friday 9 May before two shows at Forum, Melbourne on Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 May and a final show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Tuesday 13 May.

Artist presale tickets will be available beginning Wednesday, March 12th at 10am local time in each market and will go on-sale to the general public on Friday, March 14th at 10am local time at https://msconsciousness.com/tour.

The Dream Deer Tour includes select dates in Australia (May) and Europe this Summer, with a number of festival dates in between. Beginning May 9th in Brisbane, Montell will play four headline shows in Australia before returning to the US to play festival sets at Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City and Governor’s Ball in New York. The tour will continue in August with a series of festivals in Europe, followed by headline dates in Warsaw, Vienna, and Zurich.

The tour follows the release of ‘deserve/energy’, a new single from Montell’s dj gummy bear, the shadowy, masked musical moniker he first created in 2023. Montell first introduced dj gummy bear as a liberating creative outlet to explore more abstract electronic sounds outside of his solo work as Montell Fish, with more music to come from dj gummy soon.

Montell first introduced dj gummy bear with the single ‘2 Seater,’ amongst several others, which was followed by a more direct connection back to Montell with Intercession Before Charlotte, an EP released last year that placed gummy bear and Montell in direct conversation with one another. Framed as a prophet in the lore that surrounds the character, dj gummy bear engages in an internal dialogue with Montell about faith, fame, expectations, and the relationships surrounding them to contextualize the release of Montell’s sophomore album CHARLOTTE.

Montell Fish and dj gummy bear are two distinct characters, but they embody the duality in Montell’s world and the opposing forces that influenced the early parts of his career. Both represent various facets of Montell as a person, but each exists to serve its own creative endeavour. Montell Fish deals in intricate and grand alternative pop, while dj gummy bear thrives under the surface, tinkering with the ambient subtleties of his own experimental R&B.
